Visualization works well with many sports and is one the best golf swing drills. I use this golf swing drill before every round of golf. This following golf drill will improve your balance during your golf swing.
1) You will have to keep your eyes closed during this golf drill since it will force you to focus on your swing, so no golf balls are needed.
2) With your eyes closed, start your golf swing but stop at the top of your backswing and focus in on having your weight on the inner part of your back foot.
3) Now complete your swing and stop during the top of your backswing and focus in on the fact that your weight should now be on the front foot.
Try this drill several times and each time reduce the amount of time that you stop at the backswing and the follow through. After some time, you will be able to sense when your balance is perfect. This drill is also a great way to reduce stress before a round of golf and it forces your brain to feel what a good backswing and follow through should feel like.
Most people will have trouble with this drill in the beginning because they never have stressed the balance points in their swing. Nevertheless, stick with it and you will notice that your golf swing will become more powerful and automatic.
